I wrote “Let Go” about 5 years ago. It talks about daring to face the unknown. Letting go of the edge and falling off the cliff. Believing in destiny and swimming against the current. Getting outside your comfort zone. The song was produced in part by Luciano Sanchez, and partly by Rodrigo Barbosa. At first I sent Luciano the demo because I thought he might be interested in doing something for it. He created the beat and some of the other elements. Then we passed it to Rodrigo to finish the production. The result is a kind of Neo Soul, with industrial and hypnotic sounds. 

Hela San "Let Go"

Days of Heaven is my personal interpretation of the 1978 Terrence Malick film, Days of Heaven. After seeing it, I was captivated by its aesthetic, and the tragic love story it narrates. So, I decided to make a tribute that conveyed the same sensations with sounds. It took us several years to find the right direction. With Rodrigo Barbosa, the producer, I worked a lot on the atmosphere. Creating with layers of sound, a feeling of a dream.  We also knew that we wanted to have a special guest. So at the end of 2022, we decided to invite Moe Gonzalez, who arranged the strings, and added layers of guitar and vocals. We wanted to take the time necessary for the song to take shape, even if it took us several years. The result is very special to me, and very close to my heart. It is a very personal track. I still get goosebumps when I listen to it, and sing the song.

Avo de Paso was born during the quarantine in 2020. Out of the need to talk about isolation and the need to fly. To escape. We wanted the song to capture the sensation of a dream, and reflect the heaviness of being conscious between dreams. At first the song only had piano and vocals. Then, Rodrigo began to play with string sounds, and that is how we finally decided to invite Paloma Valencia to record the arrangement for two cellos that Rodrigo wrote. That together with some electronic sound textures give the song the dream like atmosphere, and makes it feel like a suspended moment.
